Idol Heads Into Spring IHFM as One of the Fastest-Growing Lifestyle Brands in U.S
The Dick Idol Home Collection has disappeared from showrooms across North America. Approximately 200 Dick Idol galleries, totaling 240,000 square feet of showroom space, began making their way to North American furniture stores the first week in March. Within several days, and in some cases several hours, it was apparent that America’s newest lifestyle brand had indeed tapped a broad yet well-defined consumer lifestyle niche:
· Star Furniture in Houston sold seven armoires and four bedroom suites before they could get the collection set up.
The Dick Idol collection is a unique blend of furniture and art that reflects the casual lifestyles of our customers. Even before we could get the entire collection on the floor the signature piece, the armoire, was sold.
- Mark Schreiber, president of Star Furniture
· Kittle’s Furniture, with stores in Indiana and Ohio, has had Dick Idol’s High Country Heritage product for two weeks and reordered four more containers in addition to the five that they ordered at the Fall IHFM.
The Dick Idol Collection is the most exciting new line of furniture and accessories in years. We couldn't wait to bring it to Kittle's.
- Jim Kittle, owner of Kittle’s Furniture
· Sandy’s Furniture in British Columbia, Canada sold 50 percent of its stock in four days.
· Walker’s Furniture in Spokane, Wash. sold out their entire gallery in one week.
· Blowing Rock Furniture sold three containers in 10 days.
In October of 2001 Klaussner Furniture in partnership with Dick Idol Ventures, LLC (DIV) introduced the Dick Idol Home Collection, including Dick Idol’s High Country Heritage furniture group, at the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C. The branded line of licensed products including furniture, home textiles, light fixtures, household accessories and art reproductions became the buzz of the show, hailed as a sure winner. Five months later, initial sales performance is proving this to be true.
Idol has arrived as America’s newest lifestyle visionary by being true to the same ideals that his products are designed to embody – embracing adventure, celebrating the beauty of nature and choosing the road less traveled. That doesn’t mean Idol’s not willing pound the pavement to promote his brand. His in-store appearance schedule for April and May is booked solid including Art Van, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Kittle’s Furniture, Star Furniture, American Furniture of Denver and RC Willey to name a few.
Ascending into the megabrand territory of household names like Ralph and Martha, Idol is blazing a trail toward icon status with an authentic style as big as all outdoors. The potential for continued expansion of his branded line of everyday products is limitless. Licensed bed and bath products, branded apparel, footwear and a Dick Idol television show are currently in development for the rugged outdoorsman and style innovator.
