Spectrum International Award Recognized Excellence in Ceramic Tile Design

Stephanie Dittrick and Candace Mac Nutt of Agape Tile were recognized for their originality and imagination in the international ceramic tile industry. Agape Tile was the First Place Residential Winner of the Spectrum International Award at Coverings 2000. Coverings 2000 is the global marketplace for ceramic tile and natural stone.

The award recognizes the most beautiful, creative and inspiring use of ceramic tile in modern design and architecture. Participants submitted entries from all over the world that were judged by a jury of architects, designers and journalists.

Agape Tile of Fort Myers recreated Monet's famous painting, Lady with a Parasol. This tile mural duplicates Monet's artwork down to the finest detail and is installed in a private residence in Sarasota, Florida. The mural is truly an exquisite work of art. It was freehand drawn from an enlarged copy of Monet's original painting with each brushstroke painstakingly reproduced one at a time. The winning artists utilized a unique glaze-on-glaze technique. They created a finished piece that has a depth of color and multi-dimensionalism which is truly incomparable. Life-like color variations and shading were meticulously applied to each design element. Agape Tile's innovative glaze-on-glaze technique translates into a technologically advanced end product with a virtually unlimited lifetime.

Stephanie and her daughter Candace are co-owners of Agape Tile. They are known throughout the United States and the Caribbean for their custom murals. These murals have a broad scope; ranging from building facades, mall décor and commercial and residential pools and spas to custom logos and complete home interiors.

This mother and daughter team are masters at museum quality custom tile, marble, canvas and wall murals of both originals and old masters. They have been creating masterpieces for over fifteen years and are also adept artists in handrolled clay, glass mosaic, stone and granite. Their customers include prestigious companies such as Publix Supermarkets Inc. and the YMCA of America.
