PERGO PARTNERS WITH UNILIN TO PRODUCE GLUELESS LAMINATE FLOORING SYSTEM

Pergo today announced a worldwide licensing agreement with The Unilin Group of Belgium to market and sell a glueless laminate flooring system. Initially, Pergo will incorporate Unilin´s Uniclic technology into their Pergo Presto product distributed exclusively through The Home Depot.

Pergo Presto, an excellent product for do-it-yourself consumers, is a glueless, laminate flooring system that can cut installation time by as much as 50 percent. The introduction of Uniclic technology will make the product easier for homeowners to install themselves.

This partnership is another example of laminate manufacturers working together to join technologies and broaden market opportunities, said Lars von Kantzow, Pergo President and CEO. Pergo holds its own patent and continues to develop other glue-free joint systems for parts of its flooring range. While Uniclic technology will be offered exclusively in The Home Depot, Pergo is currently determining where similar products under development will fit into its product portfolio and channel segmentation strategy.
