New SENCO Hardwood Flooring Family Handles Installation Jobs From Start to Finish

SENCO Products, Inc. introduces its new Hardwood Flooring Family, a full line of products assembled to help installation professionals meet growing demands for hardwood flooring.

The family consists of a specially designed pneumatic tongue-and-groove stapler, one pneumatic and two mallet-actuated cleat nailers, and several other complimentary pneumatic tools, compressors and accessories.

Hardwood flooring is a $1 billion industry which has grown an average of 12 percent over the past two years, SENCO Market Analyst Dan Schulte said. SENCO assembled the Hardwood Flooring Family to give professionals all the tools needed to not only complete an installation project, but realize consistent, professional results.

The SHF10 and SHF15 Manual Hardwood Flooring Cleat Nailers, and SHF50 Pneumatic Hardwood Flooring Cleat Nailer represent the newest members of the SENCO family.

Each nailer installs 1/2-inch to 33/32-inch hardwood flooring with 1-1/2-inch, 1-3/4-inch, or 2-inch L-type cleat nails to minimize wood splitting while allowing for the expansion and contraction of natural wood materials.

The 7.6 lb., mallet-actuated SHF10 allows installers to simultaneously set floorboards and drive nails with a single strike. The mallet-actuated, 7.6 lb., SHF15 offers a ratchet system that gives installers, do-it-yourself users, and rental yards a multiple-hit installation option that keeps nails not fully driven in position for additional mallet strikes. Both the SHF10 and SHF15 come with a 3-1/2 lb. mallet and are ergonomically designed to improve productivity and reduce fatigue. Each features a composite base to virtually eliminate damage to prefinished and unfinished flooring materials, a comfort-grip handle, and an easy two-step loading process.

The SHF50 is the only pneumatic hardwood flooring cleat nailer with a work-contact safety element that is activated when the tool is positioned on the flooring tongue. The nailer minimizes arm fatigue and maximizes productivity because it requires a scant 4 lbs. of swing weight to drive nails (a 2-3/4 lb. mallet is included).

The SLS20HF Tongue-and-Groove Stapler completes the family’s installation tool lineup, and was specifically designed to install thinner hardwood and hardwood laminate flooring. The stapler is equipped with an industry-exclusive depth-of-drive that allows installers to consistently drive 1-inch staples into 1/4-inch, 5/16-inch, 3/8-inch, and 1/2-inch flooring strips with virtually no tongue splitting or surface damage. It also offers a work-contact safety that is activated when the tool is positioned on the flooring tongue.

SENCO's SFN40 Finish Nailer and SLP20 Brad Nailer are great complimentary products. Each is ideal for top nailing flooring starter courses as well as installing baseboards and molding.

The SFN40 also is designed with an adjustable depth-of-drive and securely installs starter courses for 1/2-inch to 1-inch flooring panels. The tool drives 1-1/4-inch to 2-1/2-inch 15-gauge brad nails in sizes ranging from 4d through 8d. The SLP20 top nails 3/8-inch laminated starter courses with 18-gauge, 1/2-inch to 1-inch headless pins, 5/8-inch to 1-inch slight-head brads, or 1-inch to 1-5/8-inch medium-head brads.

Two 1.5 Horsepower Electric Hand-Carry Compressors, the PC2001 and PC2002, are ideal for providing pneumatic power to all tools included in the family.

The 58 lb. PC2001 contains twin, vertically stacked tanks, which provide 4.3 gallons of air capacity to handle all framing, sheathing, roofing, decking, finish and trim jobs. The PC2001 also features the SENCO oil-splash pump, a pump-up time of 70 seconds, and a recovery time of 15 seconds.

The 49 lb. PC2002 is designed with twin, horizontal tanks that provide 4 gallons of air capacity for a variety of finish and trim jobs. The PC2002 contains an oil-less pump and boasts a 59-second pump-up, and a 14-second recovery time.
