New From WaterFurnace: EW Series Hydronic Heat Pump System

WaterFurnace is ready to unveil its new EW Series hydronic geothermal system, the most versatile water-to-water unit the company has ever designed.

First deliveries of the EW Series are scheduled for November. The unit will come in four sizes, 20,000, 30,000, 42,000 and 60,000 BTUs at 32°F EST, 104°F ELT.

The EW Series will be suitable for residential and commercial applications. It is designed to operate with load temperatures of 30°F to 130°F and source-side flow rates as low as 1.5 GPM / ton for well water. It is generally accepted in the HVAC industry that hydronics systems typically operate for 20% less seasonal BTUH than forced-air systems. With the superior efficiency of WaterFurnace geothermal technology, the EW Series offers substantial savings to building owners.

Hydronics is the science of heating and cooling with a liquid – and heating with hot water is extremely versatile. There are many ways of distributing the heat through a building, ranging from heavy cast iron radiators found in older buildings to modern, baseboard-style convection radiation, to invisible radiant floor heating and forced air systems using fan coil units. Radiant heating is a favorite of homeowners and building owners because of its even, clean and quiet comfort.

The EW Series will offer a wide range of system applications, such as radiant floor heating, radiant wall or ceiling heating, industrial process water heating/ cooling, domestic hot water generation, baseboard radiation, chilled water cooling, pool and spa heating, snow melt and make-up air preheating/ cooling. The EW Series can be used in new construction or to retrofit existing systems, and in systems from the simple to the complex.
