Expansion of House & Home: Style for Living Collection at the Bay
Marc Chouinard, President & Chief Operating Officer of the Bay, today announced that due to an overwhelming response from Canadian consumers, the new House & Home: Style for Living collection from Canadian Style leader Lynda Reeves will be expanded to include dinnerware, glassware, flatware, patio, laundry, storage solutions and additional bed and bath accessories, including new palettes of vibrant hues in sheets and towels.
Canadian consumers no longer have to be frustrated when they open a home décor magazine and find items that aren’t available in their community, said Marc Chouinard. The Bay has almost 100 stores across the country and House & Home’s Style for Living collection is a stylish, affordable line of merchandise with a huge selection that’s available in every one of our stores.
The collection was first launched in Fall 2003 with lines for bed and bath.Today’s expansion of House & Home: Style for Living includes dinnerware, glassware, table linens, patio, laundry and storage solutions, as well as a greater selection of sheets and towels.The expanded collection represents the same fresh designs and range of colours available at incredible value.
According to 2004 statistics, retailers in the home goods sector continue to lead all other retailers with sales up 9.9 per cent compared to 2003. In addition, the number one reason stated by Canadian consumers in choosing a store is good selection.
Fashion Housewares
House & Home’s new tabletop essentials include dinnerware, flatware and glassware in three collections: Bistro, Ellipsis and Old World. As with all House & Home products, this tableware is designed to be layered:
Bistro – With loads of French charm inspired by cafés and corner bistros, this collection comes in three colours that layer well – Creamy White, Taupe and French Blue.
Ellipsis – Clean, Simple, Sleek Asian-inspired pieces with a combination of matte and shiny finishes bring a fusion look to the table.
Old World – Brings European styling in rich earth tones. The colour palette adds a casual, classic feel to the table.
Patio
The new patio collection is a fun fashion statement for a deck or balcony.Offered in white, cream, wood and bright crayon colours, these fold-up butterfly chairs, wood folding tables and stools, café chairs and tables, and acrylic outdoor accessories are great for entertaining.
Laundry and Storage
House & Home is reinventing the laundry roomwith functional European-style ironing boards, ironing chairs, dryer racks coupled with hampers, bins and baskets offered in canvas, wicker or painted metal.
The New Essentials in Bed and Bath
Available in towels, shower curtains and bath accessories, the new Essentials join Continental, Poppy, French Laundry, Barcode, Ascot and Silk Roads fashion bedding.Freestanding furnishings of cabinets and shelves, and accessories such as towel bars, hooks and holders bringhotel style to the bathroom. Also being introduced are the new colours of sheets and towels - Papaya, Pumpkin, Lavender, and Fuchsia.
The collection will continue to expand in stages over the next few seasons.The House & Home: Style for Living collection will grow to include table linens, lighting, furniture and other essential home categories.
