For generations, folk art (Volkskunst) from Saxony has been known throughout the world for its beauty and quality. Exquisite lace and embroidery from Plauen (Plauener Spitze®) and beautiful handcrafted Christmas arches (Schwibbögen) from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) in Germany have long delighted people the world over.

Since 1922 Otto Dotzauer KG has been making fine quality lace and embroidery in Reumtengrün, a small town not far from Plauen. Under current owner Horst Dotzauer and family, the third generation continues to build on this tradition. Combining technological advances with tasteful design means high quality table lace, window lace, and embroidery.

The history of Meinel Stick can be traced back to 1908, when it was founded by Karl Reinhard Meinel, the great-grandfather of Harald Meinel, the current owner. Wishing to preserve this tradition of lace-making and embroidery, the Meinel family established Meinel Stick GmbH in February 1993, and continues to produce beautiful embroidery and lace.

For over 10 years, Michael Müller GmbH has produced beautiful handcrafted double Christmas arches (Doppelschwibbögen) of exquisite detail and quality. Only the finest materials are used, and all work is done by hand on band saws — no laser, computer, or waterjet tools are used. These lovely wood double arches are illuminated from within by a string of small electric lights to display a breathtaking 3-dimensional silhouette.
